The city downtown is a part of Salvador that I usually deal with much affection because it was the place where I lived during my childhood.
This distinction between the names of city high and low due to a geological fault occurred for thousands of centuries with an extension of 100 kilometers. The sinking of land that comes of this failure has shown a depression so great that cause the impression of being in front of two separate cities.

It is very interesting to note that until the middle of the sixteenth century the whole area was at sea, starting after this period the construction of the whole city down, first with costrução of the Church of Conceição da Praia, then the port of Salvador, the Fort of Marcelo, the Mercado Modelo, the Church of Bonfim ...

I already talked about some of the sights in this area but I will continue talking about  each individual tour point of this place so special to me. I hope you are interested and enjoy it.
