Arembepe and Morro de São Paulo
Hi everyone
My name is suzana. I was born in Salvador - Bahia, and despite my traveling, have grown up and lived in Salvador my entire life. I am a law graduate and have been teaching Brasilian Portuguese for some time. I enjoy working with people from different nationalities, and hence my interest in teaching Portuguese to foreigners.
There are just two pics that I think can tell you a little bit about some places that I love.
AREMBEPE
The first one is Arembepe and it's a paradise very close to Salvador. Here you can find a very rustic place where you can lay down on beach away of every one during the day and swim in the evening having only the moon as a company. It's a very safe place. There is a hippie comunity where, at 60's did happen great festivals with Janis Joplin and Mick Jagger. If do you want have a special experience, be in contact with the nature and with youself, its a good option.
To get in there from Salvador, you must to take the bus "AREMBEPE" at Comércio - it cost around R$ 4,00 and takes about 1:40 hours. The bus will let you at the main square ate Arembepe but don't stay there. Keep walking on the road beside the river. When you get at the hippie comunity, look for the "RESTAURANTE AND POUSADA DO ROQUE". There you can have a nice moqueca made with fresh sea food - around R$ 40,00 to 3 people.
If you want stay, there are also a rustic room to rent - around R$ 25,00 per night for 1 or 2 people. I did it many times and I just love it. There is no shower or eletric energy but you can have a shower at the river and see the sky walking on the beach during the night.
MORRO DE SÃO PAULO
That is the most beautiful and magic island in the world. Its just about 2 hours from Salvador - by catamarã at the Comércio. It cost around R$ 60,00.
There are 5 main beaches.
On the 1st - that is how it is called - you can do many sports like surf and wakebord
On the 2nd it'ts nice to swin, eat or drink something, play frescoball and party at night.
On the 3nd there are many pousadas and restaurants.
On the 4nd you can ride a horse, realx at the natural pool, do kayak, kitesurf...
Praia do Encanto it's more relax almost desert. If you keep walking you will find places where there is nobody.
There are party everynight. There are basically 4 places to go:
