Alright homies. So you want to see the people shots. Go to any other Brazil web site. Find the prettiest girl. She is the one blocking my view of the even prettier girl walking along the shore. Today I met a special Bahian girl and talked while wading in the waves as the sun went down. I'll be putting up people shots as time goes by.
For anyone who has been to our parties in LA, you can probably imagine the soundtrack we set our days to. I'm lucky to have the master DJ, AJB, taking COB. So it's pretty fun around the pad.
Biz was eventful last week. Among other things we launched the new Megaforce Records shopping cart. The Bad Brains (one of our favorite early punk/reggae bands) is signed with these guys. Megaforce are long time clients and great to work with. The shopping cart is at http://www.megaforcerecords.com/store/home.php and will get better and better over the coming weeks. We'll be launching digital downloads of all their music soon.
Our friend/real estate agent Alain is taking good care of us. He introduced us to Bruno when we arrived. He is our indispensible contact on the sand. Bruno manages the blue and white striped umbrella where he rents chairs, umbrellas and endless ice cold beer and of course Brazil's famed drink Caipirinha (reminiscent of the Cuban mojito but definitely its own thing). It's a bit surreal hearing the worsening news of the US financial crisis while life here seems totally unaffected.
Had a great dinner on the beach tonight. Bruschetta then lobster in a cream sauce with gnoche. Met an interesting couple. An American (first one?) from Chicago and his girlfriend from Sao Paulo. He seems to have things pretty dialed in here and a beach pad up north. They invited Drew and me for a BBQ at their place.
After dinner Andrew and I went to a local rock and roll bar called Groove in Barra, Salvador. Great sound system and layout. They treated us pretty well. We had a good time until a U2 cover band started playing and then it was time to head home. Very cool place. Noticed it because they had a huge poster of the Ramones in the front of the place.
Ah, things are starting to get interesting. More beach tomorrow.
